Straits Settlements King George V $1.00 ~ Year of 1932

Wow! and apologies....been 5 years since I last made a contribution to my blog. A lot has happened since....from the dreadful disease COVID 19 period to my current poor state of health, and having my blog hijacked by a malicious widget. Anyway, I am back and hopefully still have the same vigour and passion for the numismatic market.Times have changed and most collectors are on FB and more inclined to buying/selling/displaying rather than providing educational info.

As the last 5 years has been somewhat difficult for me owning to my health, my collection suffered and has not grown as much as I had wanted to. I missed many auctions and exhibitions along the way, during that time the market for colonial banknotes grew with prices in tow but recently, it seems that the market has waned abit. Hopefully, I am wrong as I am getting on in years and may want to sell my humble collections via an auction. Ok! enough said! Let's get on with the banknotes...........

I acquired these two Straits Settlements 1932 One Dollar King George V series during my dormant time....

and noticed a peculiar fact, that based on Owen Linzmayer's catalog the 1932 last prefix is C/72, whereas mine is C/77 but I have seen a C/83. I understand that the1932 series is pretty scarce and higher graded ones even rarer.

Any collectors care to comment, your valuable contribution greatly appreciated.
